 Most of us are guilty of overloading powerstrips - especially for our electronics and appliances! Overloading outlets and powerstrips can be dangerous causing electric shock and in more serious cases, an electrical fire. Read on to get a few safety tips when using powerstrips from Catalyst Electric !  Choose a Power Strip with Overload Protection  Some power strips come with the safety feature overload protection. This feature will automatically cut off the power supply when the power strip is overloaded.  Don't Use Power Strips for High Wattage Appliances  Larger appliances such as heaters, TVs, stoves, etc. require high wattage to run which means they need more power.
