These outlets are great because it takes away the gaps between the wall and your furniture. They are designed just like they sound, recessed into the wall. Much like the USB outlets, they are not necessary for your home but they do offer convenience. 

Tamper Resistant Receptacles 

These outlets haven't been around too long but have made such a big impact that is required in all new homes. These outlets provide your home with ultimate safety because they require an even amount of pressure on both sides to work. These are designed to help prevent children from sticking objects into outlets and getting injured.
